Compact vs DSLRs
October 05, 2016, 11:44:02 am
I swerved buying a DSLR recently and on the recommendation of a very good photographer I know, bought a Canon G7X MK2. It's absolutely brilliant and I wondered if many others had experience of using such a camera? Really lends itself to capturing a day's bouldering on film or in images,

I'm currently tempted by a Fuji XT-10 to supplement my Canon RX100.

Did you mean Compacts vs DSLRS? That's not a DSLR, it's a big compact.

Digital technology has really matured in the last few years, there are very few bad cameras on the market now. I've got a Sony RX10 which is a bit of a hybrid but amazingly competent at almost everything.

Correct sorry Adam!

I had a super tough time getting hold of one since I was told that the Japanese factory that produces the sensors was damaged during the relatively recent earthquake. Apparently there had been an issue in dealing with demand though I'm not sure how accurate this story is?

Yeah, that's right. A few of the Japanese companies are struggling with production delays.
