Ace! Care to estimate a grade? I'll be with Zora so want to make sure things suit us both.

French 6a for the crux pitch (one tricky move as I remember and I think you could pull on a draw if needs be). The rest is easier. Top pitch is lovely.

I've been trying to source a topo for Church Crag and now have been reminded why there isn't one...it's technically banned. But people still go.

Thanks for all the advice. I had a great trip out there at various crags doing climbs which I can't remember.

We did some great single and multi-pitch (my first) routes and I had some type 2 fun with spaced bolting on horrific slabs where slips would result in rolling for 10 meters rather than falling. By not thinking and only taking my tightest pair of brand new Muiras I also set myself up for a crippling week but I emerged more hardened and experienced.

It's made me want to get out and do some trad climbing so I can go and attempt some of the bigger things out there - so anyone around Yorkshire watch out for a falling cumbian as there's a good chance his gear will rip.

Church Crag:

Or Fox Crag?

Oui, c'est vrai!  It's known as "church Crag to Les Anglaise...

I'm glad you had fun James. You can blame Piolet for those slab runouts. Just think....he bolted them ON LEAD!

Sod that - I was terrified enough in positions I could take my hands off. Bit of a change from Malham.

legend

he did get a piolet d'or

Piola's Piolet would be a good route name (if he hasn't already used it)

more new pitches put up than Gary Gibson?

Certainly more worthwhile pitches anyway...
