Anyone heard how Mark Pretty is doing? Apparently he is in Stoke hospital.

Broken wrists after a ground fall at Moat Buttress.

Got a text from him on Tuesday: "Op went well so so far not too bad"

Apparently, he's been walking for the past three days, and out soon.
Doesn't sound as bad as things could've been, though still nasty.

Good luck Zips x

All that, and a metal plate with 80 screws in his back.
Visited Saturday night and he seemed pretty psyched on life.

He hasn't lost his sense of humour.
Lets wish him a speedy recovery!

Mark, get well soon dear old friend ... and come down here to Upsidedownland for a little R&R.
Spare key's under the plant pot. (How's he BTW?).
Be well,
AP.

Mark is due to go home to his folks today.  Some nasty injuries to recover from but I expect he'll be all right.

Very philosophical about it, impressive.   :strongbench:

Phew. I am glad he is okay. I am just wondering if he will be doing that new line he was working on?

Etiquette would suggest you give it some time, then get in contact and ask him directly.

I don't think its a retro-job, so I think its still off limits until you get word from the man himself.

Hi Bolter, I mentioned this thread to Mark. Zippy's reaction was this
Don't be so rude
He'll be back

Just thought I would report that whilst Mark is far from recovered he is in great spirits and back climbing though mainly top roping.

In a recent trip to France he top roped an 8a clean but typically said it was 'really' 7c+.  :) ;D

Can't be 100% if he didn't grade it 5c.
