If the issue is caused by the water vapour/steam coming into contact with the cold pipes. Either control the steam (increase ventilation/extractor fans etc) or reduce the contact with the pipes. So Lag or box in.

In most bathrooms the condensation from a shower etc is intense but short lived - I’d have thought boxing in would be a simple place to start - and looks nicer imho.

Obvs if you’ve no ventilation and it looks like a sauna when the showers on that’s an issue that will cause other problems with damp / condensation.

Thanks everyone.

There is a ventilation block but the lad likes a long shower and it quickly looks like a sauna. Orders to open the window are followed inconsistently. Lagging for a quick win, boxing-in when the bathroom makeover occurs.

Sometimes a search within YouTube comes up with better results

:slap: Of course! Choose the correct medium:

YouTube for DIY advice from portly forty-something blokes who sound like West 'am supporters.

Substack (and not YouTube) for political commentary.

Instagram for Serbian brutalist architecture.

ukb for climbing gossip.

Yesterday I did a one-day course on lime plastering as I have a strong feeling I'll need to get semi-proficient on that soon. Great fun, and actually easier that when I tried modern plastering. At the Scottish Lime Trust in Limekilns.

Not going to claim I'm any way decent, but I'll at least be able to improve on what we have!

Nice! Lot of calls for it these days. We've just had a family cottage in Wales done out entirely in insulated lime. Well pleased with it so far.

Yeah, there seem to be a lot of interesting new "old" products coming out which seem to promise great comfort - cork/lime/diatomaceous in things like Diasen Diathonite. They also do a less insulating but more "moisture managing" one which we'll need.
