Pilgrimage repeated by Mike Hart
July 03, 2016, 09:49:27 pm
Psych Mike from Liverpool (don't know his second name) did Pilgrimage today. He totally rinsed it and there wasn't a knee in sight! Very impressive!

Wow! He's a beast. First NKB (non knee bar) repeat. Meaty! His surname is Hart.

He's climbed there for years though...
He makes it looks easier than Malc did, he chills his way across it like Barrows but on his arms instead of his knees.

Arguably first proper repeat as he matched the Greenheart connection undercut which barrows didn't?

Just amazing news. For the record, he joins a growing line of Wirral beasts and not Liverpool despite being his training ground. Come on The Peninsula!

Hoping that he spends three months of super small crimp training to destroy the Pill Box problem now.

Matter of perspective. First repeat with the original beta. Whether you use the word 'proper' or not depends on your view of kneebars. It's a fuck load harder that's for sure!

It's not just about the undercut crux either. There's a tricky move at the end of Rockatrocity to get your left hand in the penultimate pocket (hard on the link) which Barrows didn't do. Plus hardly shaking out anywhere along it (apart from a few quick one arm hangs, hardly restful!).

Haha, Malc did use a heel just not on that move! Shook out with a heel in for a few minutes on the video. Mike makes it look easier on the whole in my opinion, barely stops to shake anywhere. Impressive that it didn't take him long and probably didn't have to spend as much on petrol as Malc. He does match the RA flake though!

A few but not many. I was referring to Malc's ascent really though, he didn't match.

HOLD THE FUCK ON. Just watched the Malc video. The bad news is it looks from the vid like Mike didn't go to the finishing holds, so technically hasn't done it.

The good news is neither did Barrows, to it means the second ascent is still up for grabs. And Barrows is out of the country! Come on Mike, glory awaits. PSYCHE.

He doesn't need to do anything else apart from put his feet up and masterbate in a chair at his own leisure whilst safe in the knowledge that he's probably one of the strongest fittest climbers on the planet.

I hope to read in a ukc news interview when asked 'So, what's next?' , Mike H reply 'Well Natalie, a few plans which I'm keeping close to my chest, but short-term I plan to put my feet up and masturbate in a chair safe in the knowledge that I'm probably among the fittest strongest climbers on the planet'.

for those who have never seen him during daylight - that's what Jasper looks like when he knows what he's doing - fast, accurate foot placement

Obviously Mike has a few holding on and puling skills in addition to the feet

I gather that the level of the Cave has dropped significantly over the lastcouple of decades as the base is infill. Where did Ben Moon fail compared to Mike ? (Question directed generally)

I think he tried to go up clever beaver which is next to the one malc/ Mike use and is easier the last move is a pop after doing all that climbing and I would go up that for sure, as beaver cleaver is not as nice

I thought Moony fell off Beaver Cleaver. The last move Malc did isn't actually the official finish for Beaver Cleaver. Anyway blame Barrows (usually the best idea).

Oh to have those holding on and pulling hard skills again.

Thanks though lagers. I think that's the first time you've complemented me on here without a backhanded aside.

Shit, that was the backhanded aside. Doh!
