[Peak][Burbage North][Crystal Eyes][7A+]

Possible new one at Burbage North today. The left arête of the Crystal Tips block in the Sentinel area. Start on the left side from an obvious flatty and finish on the right side. The last move is a bit of a gripper. Good moves with a bit of spice at the end.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's been done before but I can't find any reference to it anywhere. The landing isn't great (a rocky slope) so we ended up lugging seven pads out to build the landing out under it a bit more.

No send footage but will post up a few of 205chris's stills from last week's failed attempt.

Post-ascent photo from yesterday. I'll add a couple more from last week later. Best to avoid treading on the crucial pebble when topping out as if it snaps, the problem will be a lot harder.

P.S. that's not my top-rope :P it was climbed as ground-up as possible considering you can clean all the holds from above and below.

Nice one spotting a good looking line at one of the most popular crags

It felt a bit highball but it's nowhere near as big as some of the stuff that gets given a bouldering grade. Up to the last move you can just drop straight onto the pads. I don't know where you'd end up if you blew the move to the top as I managed it the first time I got there.

I'd be interested to hear grade opinions if anyone else does it. It looked about 7C but ended up feeling a fair bit easier.

Or it could be considered sensible to do most of the time.

Looked about 7C? Walked past today, it looks about 2A. Obviously thats from face on, looks about 2A in 2 of them pics as well. You know as soon as you pull on like its supposed to be climbed its going to be short and gnarly tho! Still couldn't believe it was a new prob! Good find. Someone was fondling the bottom holds with no pads around, so i got out of there sharpish
