You're doomed Dave!!!  :w00t: :w00t: :w00t: :w00t:

With regards to the KTM, Lore likes the pic a lot. My only complaints are about the angle of the seat and tail, that's too steep for my likes, and the front fairing, that's inspired to the Ducati Streetfighter, and that I don't like on either of the two bikes.
Other than that, "bel mezzo".

Doomed to get another 'stroker, yes, I can suffer that gladly!

About the KTM, I was taken by the headline, from Built magazine - From Brute to Ballerina, with reference to the Louis Garage crew, as well as Doylo's travails in Parisella's obviously!

Agree with you about the aesthetics, although the KR1R, I love. Nnnninggggg nnnninnggg !

Love this guy's YouTube channel:

Only raced in the wet twice (Aintree, Cadwell), but loved it.

Lore, obviously worth checking out his Italian racing channel too. So much fantastic detail and analysis.

Ahahahah Dave, I know that channel!
I have to say that I used to follow him, although as of late I changed my mind.
He's a good guy overall, but some of the ideas that he professes are quite far from my mindset at the moment, and this really put me off.
For instance, the old "I am an engineer but I sacked normal life and now live the dream of riding bikes." seems really naive and a bit empty, especially if you end up being just a fast amateur who crashes a lot. This season he crashed out the first race and had a really close call with broken vertebrae, smashed heel and ankle, and other nasty stuff.
But the thing that really pissed me off, was when in April he made a video complaining that the pandemic had ruined his first official racing season, and went on for ten minutes rambling about the tragedy of not being able to go on track.
I mean, really is that all you can say?
On another video, with a fellow rider they went on for a few minutes with silly jokes about gay attitude, that were just too lame.
So I decided that I'd had enough, and that he wasn't going to earn money from my clicks anymore.
But I have to agree with you, he knows some shit about bikes, and surely he knows how to make really good technical videos.
You should check his analysis about the F1/MotoGP comparison in Mugello!
Mental.

P.s. I had a subscription to Built Magazine!  :w00t:

Yes, good points there Lore. I get what you mean, but I find his enthusiasm - and analysis - something that might help me while I'm waiting for Spring!  :2thumbsup:

Disappointing on the other points - "gay attitude" (?) and the impact of Covid-19. Fantastic to be in a position to be so affected by it!

When I started watching, I assumed he was an enthusiastic amateur, and not necessarily a racer, but good detail, all the same.

I used to crash a lot!  but not on road after going on the track  ;D

How are things over there? Are the roads still dry?

I watched the Mugello/F1/MotoGP video. There's just so much less rubber between bike and asphalt.

Hey Dave!
Don't get me wrong, as I said he's a good guy, and a great video maker. Lots of details and hints.

The roads here are dry-ish... Not after today's showers... But we are under mild restrictions now, so I can't drive outside the city border... Oh well, I'll suit up in my best attire and I'll cruise around town as Joe Cool eyeing chicks in the campus.

I'm already missing the hot and sticky Summer asphalt.
On a side note, with a friend we are planning a 2021 Tourist Trophy visit, hoping that CoVid-19 gets kicked out of everyone's lives once and for all.

Lore, that's not how it came across. You practically accused the guy of riding a four stroke  ;D

.. that said, I hadn't been able to start mine, following a ride home through a bit of a storm, and letting it stand for a while.

Tried a battery charger I'd found in a skip a little while ago, and managed to get it running today. Going to order some Red Line fuel additive, to get water out of the fuel system - that, or just drain it. It's just been under a cover for a few weeks, and it's time to put it away for the winter.

 :boohoo:

I've had a very kind offer to garage it from a certain Mr Sellars.

Would welcome any thoughts on best prep for Winter, use of WD40 to protect metal bits etc. All needs a very careful going over.

Yeah, fingers crossed for the Classic Lore. Hopefully that'll still get the go ahead. Something I need to follow more closely too.
Good luck getting a ride for 2022 Nik.

I'd say the Yamaha TZ 250!
It's the year I was there with my girlfriend, I added Nik's place to the long list of UK friends' houses that I have invaded!
Good times.

Good times.

Lore, I completely agree with you there. They're F'ing gorgeous, and thanks to the Classic, the 250 GP bikes can still race. So pure.

I love the rattle of a good set of cans!  :2thumbsup:

There's some wonderful machinery in this vid too. His filming can be a bit slow, but he spends time covering all the other aspects of race day, spending more time with the bikes too.

I love the feeling of waiting to head out of the paddock for practice.

Cheers Dave, great finds those videos! I very much like the "slow" filming style, it captures a lot!

Deliciousness

I agree with you a lot there Lore. There are so many "fast lap" videos out there. It's great to capture more of the overall atmosphere, build up, the variety, smells  ;D .. fingers crossed for later in the year.

I think you might agree with these:
(from the Kawasaki site above)

It doesn't sound as though the X-09 was particularly successful, but it's stunning.  :2thumbsup:

Lore, in amongst the second hand toasters, three piece suites and garden swings, was this little baby.

Thanks Dave, I'll have it cheers!
Stunning.
On a side note, since I don't have anything left to modify or customize in my motorcycle, as of late I've started flirting with the idea of getting rid of the airbox and install open cone filters.
Then again, thinking that the V-twin would place the filters straight in the middle of the V, with all the subsequent carburetion problems (hard breathing, hot air from the engine, new jets, etc.), I decided to leave the airbox and buy a new CNC machined, quick release fuel cap.

Yeah, difficult breathing for carbs by the sounds of it. I'm not much of a mechanic, but have some things to look after on my bike - possibly a bit of water in the carburettors - so I'm trying to get my head around all of this.

It would be easier if my bike was in the dining room! but I couldn't get it in the house, and Nic Sellars has very kindly offered to garage the bike over the winter. Different part of town.

Sorry I couldn't upload a photo of the Classic TT Suzuki. Interesting choice of frame. The old "slabby" GSXR road bikes are also favourites of mine. I'm thinking that something older - that I'm not afraid to fettle with - may be the best way to go. It'll probably be April before I get the ZX6 out again.

Always good to see developments of your bike, if you have any photos  ;D :2thumbsup:
