Nope, not kidding Lore! xx

I've been muttering about getting something for a long time, as you know.

My first four stroke, as it happens.

Hope everything is good where you are  :2thumbsup:

As above..

"Quick stop at a bike shop, before heading out to the Tor" - where Dawid's son Joachim Skoczylas did Mecca  :punk:

and others resorted to plenty of excuses  ;D

Hope it's ok to mention  :)
Nice work Joachim  :2thumbsup:

Edit: OK, just seen in Effort Yoof too.

Yes Dave thanks, we can  have a good quality of life  now, and I can ride my motorcycle! Although with a dodgy knee...

Thank you both  ;D

Definitely falling into the "no heroics" category! - but all coming back quickly. Need some leathers! I'll try to update with "bike at crag" photos too

Lore, I'd forgotten about your knee; really sorry. Are you OK on the bike then? But climbing not?
And thank you for the updates on your bike. Looking really sweet. Love the stubby can and naked rear tyre set up. Bet it sounds great too.

Time for people to share their steeds!

Hey Dave, the knee is not too bad at the moment, still a bit swollen, so complete flexion is not possibile, and quite weak. I can't move on the bike, so I ride even slower than usual...
Climbing - on my board obviously - is out: just weights, fingers and bar work.
It could be worse...

But you'll be looking cool  :punk:

Weights, fingers and bar work sounds like the standard Covid-19 protocol. Yes, things could be worse. We need a new thread; "Training is the new climbing"  ;)

Maybe throw in some flexibility work - could help with load through the knee?

Simes303 nicked my bike in 2004! The scoundrel  ;D

Me outside Simon's house. It's not actually the same one; mine just looks newer  ;)
Simon has given me a lock and jacket, and was going to lend his Haynes manual, but we can't find it. I'm going to shamelessly ask if anyone else has one?

Off to the Tor, via Matlock (as I often would with Bubba back in the early 90s):

Nails!

Well, this b****** actually:

Never had a puncture on a motorbike before, but picked this up about half a mile from home the other day. Made a right old racket smashing into the tyre hugger, and I thought it was far more serious.
Still, a real pain in the backside, given that my sticky Bridgestones are less than 900 miles old.

Really lucky it happened when it did, but expected this to be expensive!

There's a great little performance bike service shop just up the road from me, and John at Techmoto reckoned he could plug it for a bargain £30 if I took the wheel in.

Usual business of turning the yard and kitchen into a workshop:

Got the wheel back later that day - a great effort, thanks John.
https://www.techmoto.co.uk/

Wheel back in the bike, and back on the road:

No problems since  :2thumbsup:
Yay  :dance1:

I also managed to pick up some Alpinestars leathers and Sidi boots, in great condition, for £80. Another bargain.

Well, the rear tyre is holding pressure, so that's a fix  :2thumbsup:

Getting used to carrying minimal crag gear. Stoney - great session in Tom's last night, Matlock, Raven Tor early this morning.

This evening was perfect for one thing - getting my knee down again , which hasn't happened for 28 years  ;D

(That's a plastic puck, which is Velcroed to the knees, so they slide rather than grab.)

I'll never forget being behind Bubba (of this site) when he has his sparky knee sliders.  Very off putting if you're behind.  (ps, I was riding pillion on Nic's ZX-6R who would also be getting his knee down)   Scary times!!

Hey, cool stuff everyone!  :dance1:

Yes, Bubba's sliders with titanium bolts  :2thumbsup:

Sam, I think I heard about you and Nic. But of course, you probably compressed the suspension - to make up for his shorter legs  ;D Nutters :great:

Lore, I love the Manx sliders  :clap2: very cool too! Go and get some track action!
Sorry, sounds s though you have! How's the bike? And the TZR?!

Without a doubt, I'd say getting some practice on a closed circuit, makes for so much safer riding on the roads.

Baslow roundabout is a great place to practice though, and you get to go through Owler Bar there/back from Sheffield too.

All the above said, I reckon the sticky Bridgestones my ZX6R is wearing, have saved the day a few times already

Get. It.

Oh Lore, if I could!

I'm having a think about different ways of doing the bike thing. Winter coming along; wet/salted roads etc.

Something like the KR1S would be great to keep running sweetly, thrash in the summer, although I did run mine through the winter, when Bubba and I had our respective steeds back in '91/2 - that's nearly 30 years ago!

I think it's best to have a plan with these things, and budget.

It looks as though you're pretty well set up, re storage/maintenance. I have a couple of kind offers of garage space over the winter, and went to bed thinking that I can't wait for March!

My ZX6R is in great condition, but currently only under a cover. Unfortunately, I think it's drawn water - from condensation - into the tank/fuel. The fuel filter won't stop that getting into the carbs, and it was choking when I got back from a ride the other night. Going to have a go at draining the carbs.

Maybe it needs a Mediterranean climate and a bit of sun ;D

Ha ha, yes! .. although it might get sweaty, wearing all that rubber  :P

Bike started fine, so going to head out on that, if the rain holds off  :2thumbsup:

Almost exclusively for Doylo  ;D :2thumbsup:

I suspect Lore may appreciate too..

And then there's this:

Sorry, I'm struggling. This is the R, not the S. Modified front fairing, USD forks. Rear wheel that looks like it's come from Luca Cadalora's 1992 250GP bike.
