Birthday Present Ideas
January 27, 2016, 12:00:45 pm
Right folks,

It' my Mum's first Birthday since my dad died last year and I'm struggling for ideas. She's turning 65 and is pretty active (curls, cycles etc.)

Any thoughts on an obscure/different non-consumerist/useless present?

Take her away for the weekend. She would probably rather spend time with you than get a present.

She's got a beastmaker in the garage.  :strongbench:

A weekend with me?  I said a present, not a punishment  ;)

Joking aside, that's something to look into.

Bring her up to Aberdeen to enjoy Curl Aberdeen, NE Scotland's Premier (only) Curling Facility. The pub is cheap too.

I always try and get my mum activity based presents since my dad died as she likes to have something to look forward to.

As an example for christmas i got her (and my sister) vouchers for a track cycling taster session at the Manchester velodrome, we usually make a family day of it with other family members going along to heckle and then have a meal somewhere after.

Hadn't even crossed my mind! Honest! Could take her for a cycle on the Deeside Way too, flat cycle from Aberdeen to Banchory (where it mostly disappears) or from Aboyne to Ballater. Nice scenery.

Ok, ok - I'll put it on the list. Cheers.
