Think you should throw in a multi-pitch 5.12 on the Chief, a concerted effort at embracing local bouldering and a visit to Smith

Smith must be weekend-feasible? Pretty sure we drove from Smith to yourself in <1 day?

Saw on FB that Alan Carne had OSed University Wall, impressive stuff!

I think my only aim for 2016 is to get a dog and name it Toby (regardless of gender), perhaps I should also finish the bathroom (+ thus the house) too...

I recall not thinking 8 hours each way Manchester-Torridon for a long weekend was that big a deal.

Admittedly no border crossing (in those days).

Make a film that's as well received as Stonnis.

That's the big one. :look: Hopefully it won't get in the way of the following goals:

7b/ 7b+ sport.

Back to the 7s in bouldering.

Try harder (i.e. above E1) trad routes

Stop eating so much fucking chocolate.

Shake off the Sciatica and get he house decorated after the major building project of last year and get stuck into the back log of new routes I have spied or partially equipped.

1. Sort my wrist out.
2. Sport - Body Machine, New Dawn, The Sea is a Brown Paper Bag.
3. Trad - Right Wall, London Wall, Lubyanka.
4. Something alpine, big, rock and mostly free (and keep running regularly to be fit for it).

Right now I'd settle for number 1 and getting regular climbing in.

Right then!

Trad

Get more solid at E5.

Did a reasonable number last year but a lot were soft and I had to try pretty hard on all of them! Once again just need to keep getting on them when I'm psyched and remember it's the onsight as a process not a prize that's important.

Have loads of amazing looking routes I'm keen for all over at this grade so that's good!

Finish off Almscliff big 3! Maybe mince up a grit E4 whilst tied on?

Depending on how the E5s go this year I guess if it feels right I'd like to try and climb an E6 onsight or groundup (obvs) however if this is red at the end of the year that will be totally fine as E6 is a grade for the big boys and I'm only small...

Guess I'm looking for good E6s that aren't death but also aren't desperate in my usual stomping grounds of North Wales, Pembroke and the peak. Guess the usual suspects are Lord, cad, reproduction, struggling to think of a suitable Pembroke one...

Sport

Consolidate 7b onsights - have now onsighted 4 so it would be good to get more under the belt!

Flash 7b+ - should be in with a shot of this during my spring sport trip as I'll have actually been training fitness and tied on in the lead up.

Consolidate at 7c and do some 7c+s herbie at malham should go down early next year I think.

Red point 8a - fuck it may as well be bold and stick me neck out! (Plus as GuyVG has slapped his way up one I better try and catch him!) Guess something on malhams upper tier or the cornice (unleashing) or aberration at 2 tier ( had a session on this last year and it doesn't feel too bad).

Achieving/striving for these goals will give me a good physical buffer for my trad goals which are the important ones.

Bouldering

The last few months of last year were a total shit show but I'd love to do things like West Side, Spare Rib, My apple, finish off narcissus, etc. So I guess quantifiably that means climb 7B.

Keep enjoying it!

Cba with life ones...

Cheque I've heard rumours you're planning a sea-cliff film, if so keep me in the loop as I'd like to be in that if logistics allow, I love sea-cliffs. I could do the Lleyn :)

You heard right- glad there are rumours about it as I need as many people who are psyched as possible!

Lleyn would be great. Logistics are indeed going to be mental for this project but I'm totally up for the challenge and have accepted that it will consume my entire year.

To everyone reading this- if you have ambitions to climb wild trad seacliff routes this year get in touch either on here or social media.

I like sea cliffs. I probably don't have the most convenient location for the places you might have in mind (Poole) but let me know.

Run Edale Skyline race - March
Ski Haute Route - April
Redpoint 8b by end of year ideally Bricktop and Butterflies.
Any onsighting and trad will be a bonus.

8.   5x1 week away (non-family) climbing trips 3x1 week away (non-family) climbing trips

The error of my previous thinking was pointed out to me this morning in no uncertain terms.  :spank:

Let me know if you want a cameraman, it was a goal of mine to film something on main cliff for ages, never did get round to it.

If suitable partner can be arranged, and arrangement with mrs Jwi be made: Troutherapie in Aiglun

Onsight 8a again, preferably more than one, and at least one that really is 8a.

Woot, it's going to be just like this, with me as the dismayed second man:

1. 8A
2. 8A
3. 8A

Preferably at least one not at Almscliff. Or at the very least, not on DWR.
