MK7 Golf - Which Pad
December 04, 2015, 11:28:41 am
Just wondering if anyone on here has a MK7 Golf, and if so, which is the best bouldering pad that fits in the boot?
Boot of the Golf is pretty small, and most of the pad dimensions I have seen are for the open size, not what they fold down to so hard to gauge fit
Cheers

If I take the boot floor out, (so the pads are touching the spare tyre) I can fit a dmm highball *and* a snap bun in. Then there's still loads of room for stuff on top.
Pretty good.

Distance between the wheelarches is usually the limiting factor..

I think most closed pad dimensions are the width halved, the thickness doubled, and the length stays the same

But I know Outside have put the dimensions in a table at the bottom of each pad page like this one

I have a metolius boss hogg which is slightly squarer than most mid size pads and fits the boot of a mk2 1 series which I believe is about the same as a golf.

Good pad.

Most (all I've had) fold to be 1m wide accross the hinge/fold. Then as Drew said it be about 1/2 the opposite dimension.

Thanks all, and thanks for the outside link :)
I will take the boot floor out and measure, as it sounds like that makes a big difference.

You should be able to get the boot dimensions (and tailgate opening) from the www

Official VW figures?  I'd get the tape measure out.

Boss hog fits in the boot of an ibiza, due to the sloping hinged face, so must surely fit in a golf boot
