Just got in from work to find 40 facebook friend confirmations from requests I didn't send  ::)

Anyone else had their facebook accounts hacked? What's the dealio? Should I delete the account? I always knew the cunting thing was bad news - its only use to me is for posting for partners and for that it's quite good.

To any of the lovely people who replied, I do not wish to befriend you over the internet and know about what you're up to every day (but if I ever meet you in real life, hi  :) )

Hi petejh,
you don't need to delete your account, but you should:
- change the password
- check the hacker hasn't sent spam or similar messages to your friends
- check in the apps if there's a new one that shouldn't be there. You might have inadvertently given access to your profile to a malicious app

Then I'd scan the pc for viruses, keyloggers and similar. Unlikely but better check.

Oh and if you don't use fb deleting the account is still the best option IMHO ;-)
