Going to see France v Romania at the Olympic Stadium tonight, courtesy of a mate with some free tickets near the back.

Hoping for a Japan v Saffers type upset, would make for a more exciting match than Les Bleus cruising a victory.

Not sure that England losing to Wales is quite in the same league as RSA losing to Japan.

Wales are a first tier team. Japan aren't.

Probably equivalent to Australia losing to Bangladesh or England losing to Netherlands (at cricket).

As an aside, the media keep saying we have to beat Oz to qualify but surely if Wales lose to Fiji and Oz, and Fiji beat Saurez's mates then it will be down to points difference between us, Wales and Fiji. Or have I got something wrong.

Hmm, don't know. Japan were a relatively unknown entity and played their hearts out, and SA were clearly caught napping.

England looked certain to defeat an old adversary they know very well and who were quite a way behind and struggling with injuries, but they threw it away.

Yep, Australia were far better than us. We should have beaten (or drawn with) Wales. Anyway I can concentrate on the important stuff now, like England v Pakistan A in the UAE or who our new manager is going to be.

Just hope the Saffers don't win the Cup

Over the last week I have been amused to watch a couple of friends who have family ties to many of the home nations migrate from Wales, to Ireland to Scotland supporters (well from one to the other etc.. I don't think anyone has done all three - though it wouldn't surprise me..).

Me, I don't give a fuck. Never liked Rugby Union.
