Access at Rowtor Rocks

Access problems at Rowtor have escalated:

http://www.thebmc.co.uk/rowtor-rocks--latest-access-advice

TL:DR (for those who can't be arsed to read the whole link) - chickens in a flap, politicians involved, stay clear of Domes, Pat's Roof and Short Sean's Reachy Roof for the time being.

Old landlord of the Red Lion, Litton taking over the Druids sounds like a result though.

I thought there was a long thread on this but I can't find it.

NO NIGHT CLIMBING AT ROWTOR.

I would have thought this was obvious given the sensitive nature of the site and proximity of the houses, but clearly not. Please spread the word around. The BMC and National Park have gone to a lot of effort over the last few years negotiating an uneasy truce with some of the locals, but this has now been upset.

Otherwise, previous info is current. Access is mainly ok but keep a low profile in the Short Seans/ Domes area - small groups, keep sessions short and keep the noise down. DEFINITELY DON'T CAMP OUT THERE AT NIGHT WITH A BLOODY LAMP.

Jesus. It does seem like the number of idiots in climbing is rapidly on the increase.

Are you sticking this on UKC and elsewhere.... speaking to the converted isn't going to help much.

I'll try and get something on the BMC Facebook page, that has a pretty good footprint

That would be good Dan... a BMC UKC post would also be welcome.... I'd do it myself but since I recently poked them with a stick about site 'dislikes' I can see some prats climbing there on purpose if I asked them not to.

This guy claimed on comments on that instagram post, subsequently deleted, to be a local who'd spent time smoothing over access issues, and he was entitled to climb in his grandparents back garden if he wanted, or words to that effect. Read into this what you will.
