Police brutality (USA)
May 25, 2015, 02:32:39 pm
So yet another horrific video of police brutality in the USA. How this policeman isn't being charged with a crime or having a civil rights prosecution brought against him or the local police department is beyond me. I'm half american myself and and have wanted to live over there on and off since I was a kid, but the very depressing epidemic of problems like racism, police brutality, inequality etc make me think I probably would be more comfortable living in just about any other country on the planet.

Please tell me I'm not the only one that thinks the country is going down the toilet! Or has it been there for a while and people just haven't noticed?

Been there a while, I think many people have noticed.

Well it has obviously been going on and has never really gone away, but the 'narrative' in the USA for the last decade has mostly been about terrorism, iraq, afghanistan, then the economy. Occupy was prominent in the news for a while. But in the last year I think people are becoming much more conscious of the problems the USA has. I think social media activism / rise in personal devices with good cameras etc has helped bring alot of it to people's attention.
