Nikon lenses for sale
March 29, 2015, 04:21:29 pm
I'm selling some lenses to fund upgrades.

All in Walkley, Sheffield if you want to view/test/collect, happy to post (buyer pays postage at cost).

Any questions, reply here or drop me a PM.

I'm open to sensible offers, but I think the prices shown are pretty competitive. Payment in cash or bank transfer.

Nikon 70-300mm f/4-5.6 G

Cheap and cheerful tele zoom. As usual for this type of lens, it's soft wide open at the long end (great for portraits) and sharpens up stopped down. Plastic mount, 62mm filter thread.

G-series lens (no aperture ring) so no use on manual film cameras.

Has "screwdriver" AF (no internal motor) so won't autofocus on the D40, D60, D3XXX, D5XXX. Works perfectly on all other DX, FX and film bodies.

Has a few small cosmetic scuffs on the barrel and hood, but apart from a few specks of dust inside (completely normal and invisible in pictures) the optics are immaculate.

No box, but comes with both caps and hood. £50.

Nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5 AF-D ED

Cheap and cheerful ultrawide for FX or film cameras. Will work on DX, but the 18-55 kit lenses are probably more useful. Small and light (for an ultrawide at least). Metal mount, 77mm filter thread.

Compatible with all film cameras, including older manual bodies, and all FX cameras.

Uses "screwdriver" AF, so won't autofocus on D40, D60, D3XXX, D5XXX, but fine with everything else.

Has a few small cosmetic scuffs on barrel and hood, a few specks of dust inside (completely normal and invisible in  pictures). Other than that the optics are immaculate.

Comes with original box, instructions etc, hood and caps. £175.

Nikon 24mm f/2.8 AF-D

Classic prime lens. The cheapest way to get f/2.8 and 24mm on Nikon. Weighs nothing, fits in a trouser pocket and performs as well or better than most of the bigger, heavier and much more expensive zooms. Metal mount, 52mm filter thread.

Compatible with all film and FX cameras.

Uses "screwdriver" AF, so won't autofocus on D40, D60, D3XXX, D5XXX, but fine with everything else.

Has a few small cosmetic scuffs on the barrel and hood , a few specks of dust inside (completely normal and invisible in  pictures). Other than that the optics are immaculate. The filter thread has a small crack (from me stuffing it into my bag in a hurry with the screw-in hood still attached) that I have repaired (carefully) with superglue (professional repair was uneconomical). The thread still holds filters and the hood perfectly - I've been using it like this for about 2 years and have had no problems.

No box, but comes with both caps (the back cap in the pic is a Sigma, I can swap for a Nikon one if you like) and a third-party screw in metal hood. £150.

The 70-300 or the 18-35?

Either way you've got first dibs, let me know how the negotiations go.
