Walls near Cambridge?
February 25, 2015, 06:08:38 pm
The gf looks like she's moving for a job for the rest of the year - anyone have any knowledge on the best bouldering to be had in striking distance?

Are you planning on staying in Cambridge full-time or part-time? And where in Cambridge?

My gf now lives in St Neots so her nearest wall is kelsey kerridge in Cambridge or Big rock in Milton Keynes.  She's been to KK a couple of times but doesn't really rate it.  I think they had a refurb last year but she said the route setting isn't great and it's fairly small and compact so feels busy but she has been spoilt by the works.  Big rock is 9 quid a shot

Cheers all. Fried, I won't be there, just her, and she'll be back in Bristol for weekends?

kelsey kerridge has good opening hours and is cheap and easy to get to by Parker's piece.

it has some steep stuff. holds aren't to my taste and can't comment on setting but never been wowed by it. you can make your own problems up after all. i use it when I'm in Cam: seen (much) better, seen worse.

If it's just for weekdays, she might have to put up with KK. Big Rock is much better but about an hour by car which might be a bit much after work.

Does the Kelsey kerridge wall have a decent steepish board like thing?

So basically, no, it doesn't have a decent steepish board...
