  • Largely broken. Obsolete spares and scrap only.

I am currently looking for arguments refuting this:

http://www.iaaf.org/download/downloadnsa?filename=74526f13-ebb3-4cf3-a86e-84fad691d7c5.pdf&urlslug=aspects-of-strength-training-in-athletics

Aka "Tidow 1990" (much quoted by Horst in his books).

So in addition to my own research and knowing that there are a good number of training nerds here, I figure someone has already done this.

Any input gratefully received.

Also, on a side note...

Don't believe all Mr Horst claims for the Golgi organ...

(forgive me if teaching you how to suck eggs etc..)

But If you wang it into Google Scholar, it'll tell you who has cited this work - which may help you track stuff down...

Yep, on that (as always) but specific refutation is tough to track down and I thought I'd ask if anyone had already found something.
For me, the answer is more important than the quest, I get no points for research effort...

What part are you trying to refute?

Anything I can.

It seems to be taken as gospel by most exercise professionals and seems to chime with everything else I have learnt; therefore I am highly sceptical of it.
(Currently, I am required to give the desired response,  per text book and this grates).

This grew out of comparing Horst's books to standard, mainstream sport, training methods.

Ta for the link!

That seems a strange reason to be sceptical..
I'll read all those links tonight but I doubt I'll have much to say either way.

Sorry forgot the [emoji12].

I have a somewhat twisted sense of humour, which translates poorly to text based communication...
