The BMC is pleased to announce the launch of its brand new travel insurance scheme to bring new and enhanced benefits to BMC Travel & Activity Insurance.

The new scheme went live today (12 January 2015) using a completely new underwriter, claims handling company and emergency assistance provider.

BMC CEO Dave Turnbull  said: "For 35 years people have trusted BMC Travel Insurance and it’s great to announce our all new scheme under Lloyds underwriter ProSight. Everyone will benefit from much improved Search & Rescue provision, £2500 of air space closure insurance (new for 2015 - to cover volcanic ash type incidents) and a quick and simple medical screening process. Online discounts are still available, and the BMC continues to set the standards."

Together with our brokers, Perkins Slade, we’ve established a contract with new underwriters ProSight to enhance the policy for 2015 and beyond.

ProSight Specialty Underwriters Ltd. is the international arm of ProSight Specialty Insurance. ProSight owns the capacity of Lloyd’s underwriting syndicate 1110, which carries the strong financial security ratings of Lloyd’s: A+ (Standard and Poor’s), AA- (Fitch) and A (A.M. Best).

New benefits include:
• enhanced search and rescue wording
• improved rates for over 65-69 years olds (Europe)
• removal of European snowboarding loading
• slimmed down policy documentation
• new international emergency assistance company
• new claims handling company

This complements our new user and technology friendly website module, which guides you through buying insurance online.
