in the Trafford Centre; it sounds...... big:http://www.theclimbingdepot.co.uk/leeds/news/depot-manchester
30,000 sq. feet! For the man who has no concept of area, it would appear that when using the industry standard this equates to roughly half a football pitch...
Sounds amazing. Can't help but notice the irony of "an outdoor area for summer bouldering" in Manchester though.
There is nothing on the planning portals about change of use so it's probably safe to assume the building is already being used for leisure.

Anyone heard any more on this? Is it still happening?
Went yesterday, very impressive. Loads of space, big walls, cool angles, some amazing new holds and despite being very busy there was no queues for problems. Gripes? More locker space would be nice, but apart from that, about as close to perfection as I've seen in a bouldering wall. Well done Mr Dunning et al.
Re traffic - worth remembering that if Man U are playing at home (as they were yesterday) there will be 70000 people coming and going from near the area for 60-90 min before and after the game...

Give me a shout next time you're heading down Nick/Paul..
Good luck with the new bairn Galpinos.
I'm jealous. Need a decent bouldering facility near us, hopefully Depot Aberdeen, or TCA Aberdeen, or Works Aberdeen........

Great selection of holds and big volume/hold crossovers with lots of facets. I bet they're a decent investment but a statement about doing things well.
