Family friendly Northumberland

The title says it all really, any suggestions for stuff with a reasonably short walk in, a good range of lowish low grade problems (up to 6+) and stuff for kids?

The plan is to stay in Wooler so stuff around there or in the Sourthern end of the County would be appreciated.
I've been to Bowden and Shaftoe last year so maybe some new venues?

Back Bowden. Some very easy kiddie stuff on the back of some of the boulders, might need a rope for them though. Sunny, sheltered, reasonably short walk.

Dove hole perfect for you. Not the best bouldering area but nice spot and loads of easy stuff.
Other than that there is a reason why the bowdens and shaftoe are popular.
Hepburn is nice but limited for kids.

Good call, especially this time of year when bracken is low.

Second the Dovehole suggestion, lovely crag, but if it's rainy before your trip might be worth bearing in mind its in a sheltered gap in the trees so not sure how much drying wind it would get at this time of year unless its a SW wind. Other half and I stay at the Tankerville in Wooler when we are down for a few days as camping a no-no for her due to arthritis - nice basic hotel that is very geared towards walkers, shooters etc. plus half decent real ales available :) Also recommend the chippy in Wooler if needed. NMC guide also says ask at the farm before going up to the crag, last time we were at Dovehole there was no-one in on a Sunday morning.
