We've a couple of these cars parked near MrsT's house and the in laws.. Which could make it handy for when we get the train down and need a car for part of a day etc...

Just had a flier through for a years worth of free membership (£60) and thought it a no brainier to have a try.... Anyone any experience etc.. Of these things? Not worth it? Brilliant?

Looks like that post was a dead end TT 

However, I was looking around, into this the other day, so seemed a good idea to resurrect it.

I don't really want to (feel I can justify ATM) go into full car ownership, and I can imagine there are some reasonable deals out there.

Any info on the cheapest place in/near Sheffield for car/van hire would be very handy too!

You could always try HiyaCar - it's a bit London focused but might have some options nearby. It's peer to peer car sharing.

Edit. There are a few deals out there from about £140/week - which seems reasonable for a trip.

There are several options listed for cars in Sheffield, starting at about £2/hour plus £3 booking fee - that's for a Punto. A few cars listed, up to £5 per hour.
