Anyone been bouldering in the Gunks and know where I can get hold of a guidebook? Any recommendations on cheap places to stay near by?

Are there any other bouldering spots worth visiting within a couples of hours drive from New York?

I have the bouldering in NYC guidebook which covers Central Park, etc. though there doesn't seen to be much info on the web for areas such as the Gunks, so any info would be much appreciated.

http://www.newenglandbouldering.com/ might be useful, but there's a newish printed guide so online topos might not be as readily available as they once were.
