Craving for booze has gone down and not had any alcohol for 6 days. Scarcely any snacking either except at crag. Weight is the same but fat going from my midriff so expect to see a few pounds drop off soon.

Assuming Bishop in Nov happens, then my two goals are:
Current - 171lbs, 78kg, 12.3 st
Mid-Sept - 167lbs, 76kg, 11.13 st
Mid Nov - 162lbs, 73.5kg, 11.8 st

So let the August Lardbegoneathon begin!

8/15/14 - 168 lbs.  Going much faster than anticipated, although I think the non-stop active week in squamish really helped....

a manly volume of ale was consumed last weekend due to camping in the rain on the same site as The Mother-in-law

sticking to oatcakes and occasionally mixed nuts and dried fruit for daytime hunger management

no Greggs

no cakes at work

bouldered one evening - was told by someone who knows about these things that I was moving well

the scales registered a low point of 14st 7lb

YYFY!

Currently 81 target 77.

To be achieved by: long days out on the Alps in August

   currently 82  :(

The death of my dad meant my family visit to the uk at the start of the month involved no physical activity and a lot of sitting around drinking with my brother and various old friends.

Appalling weather meant the following week of alpine "climbing" mostly involved hillwalking in pouring rain, interspersed with sitting in huts desperately trying to consume enough calories to stay warm. Rather too successfully it would appear.

Well done Lagers -

Theres a woody allen film where they go into the future and find out that smoking is good for you - the implication that he was stupid for giving up. I sometimes wonder if the same will happen with Greggs...

I found this article very interesting, especially the ELEL/EMEM approach, which I had never thought about.
I hope it helps everyone with their goals, myself included.

Guess I should give it a go. After getting down to 13st I'm creeping up to the 13 1/2 mark again.

On holiday next week, so it's going to be tough.

Post hol, still 13 1/2, guess I didn't lose any ground at least!

Yeah, I find that too. I was fairly good though, not much booze, just a bit of excessive habitual snacking when driving. Managed a few reasonable length bike rides.

Time to start gradually losing the excess weight ready for Sendtember

Current weight 11.8
Target 11.2

Achieved by: no home drinking and cutting out bread, chocolate, cheese and biscuits

Anyone else?

Down to 11.5-6 this week. Limited drinking and snacking still but we're visiting my parents so will have to show restraint with Mum's home cooking especially as climbing psyche is at a low ebb.

a bit of positive re-enforcement in the form of bouldering success should help with maintaining the effort (even if it was a traverse)

81. Back to square one yyfy.

Interestingly, my rested/waking pulse is down from 47 in April to 44. Suggesting that all the bike riding to work, stair climbing, hillwalking in pouring rain etc. actually worked, and aerobic fitness wouldn't have been the limiting factor had I managed to get on any decent long alpine rock routes.

11.6 this morning  :dance1:

Gave in to  beer, cheese, wine, roast dinners, blackberry crumble over weekend but declined the cheesecake at dinner on Monday and participating in the McDonalds on the way home

Hey ho

More cardio exercise, less cake, no drinking..... the result... weight resolutely stuck at 76.2kg

I do however feel at lot more motivated and with better energy levels than a month ago so still good.
