Wood burners

Don't know where the best place to post this is, so probably here then. I'm after getting a wood burning stove supplied and fitted - does anybody know anybody in the Sheffield environs who does this sort of work that they would recommend? Ta!

Apologies if I'm about to tell you something you already know, but we may as well start at the beginning.

You need a HETAS registered installer. You can find one here:
http://www.hetas.co.uk/find-installer/

I'm not from the area so can't give a personal recommendation, sorry.

We bought our stove from Nortons on Rutland road and (as I remember) the fitters were Oakbrook chimney services. This was about a year ago. Happy to recommend either - PM me if you want me to dig out any contact details

Nortons have a pretty good selection of stoves from what I remember

I would second oakbrook without any hesitation. They fitted ours last year and are the best tradesmen I have ever dealt with by a mile. We liked them so much they are doing some other building work at this very moment.

As an aside, the quote from the guys out in the peak who do clearview stoves (natural earth products I think) was more than double. He was a bell end as well.

Check my advise on this thread...

You need HETAS installer (pretty standard though)

In a smoke control zone, you need a DEFRA exempt stove. (most are though these days) .

As of this week, I am a stove owner. Thought I'd share the info:

This site tells you EVERYTHING you need to know:

I bought a morso from a narrow boat chandlers in Ely - very cheaply:

Oakbrook Chimney Services are installing - Lewis is a good guy:
