Also worth noting that even if you're not bothered about 3D, the 3D capable tvs have a much better standard HD picture.

I looked at the same models side by side and the 3D one was way better for only a few quid difference.

if going for a soundbar worth trying to get an ARC one that works with your telly then telly remote will do the sound

I think most modern ones do have ARC, but it is great.

Agree with Jas re 3D. We only bust out the glasses ocassionally - I think I've only watched life of Pi and Prometheus so far, but it is good quality in general.
