It strikes me as a f*cking joke to charge someone £30k for a lake (and near shore) that you can't do anything with because its in a National park, that you can't do anything in (because its inaccessible and in a National Park), that will some day give you a f*ck off huge bill for maintenance...

I had neighbour in Lincolnshire Lord Petherbridge,  he lived in a caravan at the back of the farm over the road. Next door to the caravan of Viscount jones who ran the local dog grooming parlour.

I don't think you put your place up for auction unless you are forced! Reading TripAdvisor it seems it closed down about Aug last year. There's a lot of property for your money but it is pretty remote so attracting patrons must be tough. still f that price you'd only need minimal occupancy for it to wipe its feet.

Just for the record, it doesn't matter who bought the title, my dad is officially the lord of Threlkeld. And I'm the rightful successor when his reign is over!

Depends on if there's been an "option to tax" on it by the previous owner.

Provided you buy with a VAT registered company it's just a timing issue anyway as you can reclaim it.

Business lenders will usually offer a short term extension of the loan to cover it.
