Couriers. Fucking Couriers.

Pity anybody in the UK who has had to endure the Googleathon of trying to find a 'reliable' courier!

After endless Trust Pilot searching, www.courierpoint.com came out top although irritatingly, you're unable to take out insurance on glass goods. These are precisely what I need to move about the country.

I'm wondering whether I'm just going to have to bite the bullet and use a specialist firm such as www.tpcfreightmanagement.com who I'm sure won't be a cheap option? (Awaiting quotation).

I might be pissing in the wind here but does anybody have any experience of moving cases of wine/spirits around the country and with any degree of reliability!?

Didn't Craig Devonshire have something to do with the wine trade?

my experience is only as a consumer - boxes of bottles from Master of Malt, The Whisky Exchange, and Brewdog.  A perusal of my email box finds that they all used Parcelforce (normally for around £5-6 P&P costs on my order - for up to 12 bottles).

Never ever use Citilink (or Citylink). Dire. Terrible. From Hull I have to go to Scunthorpe and shitty one small window 'reception' in an industrial estate that may as well be in Vladivostok to pick up parcels if they can't organise their fuckwit selves to deliver when they should.

Parcelforce have always been OK for me..

Thanks Moose - I'll drop them a line tomorrow. Just need one of the services to offer me an insurance option. I simply can't afford for several hundred pounds worth of stock to be kicked about a depot and damaged.

Sadly I don't know this chap Graeme but I'd be keen to speak with him if he is.

+1 for Parcelforce then Tom. Duly noted, thanks!

Not sure what your potential loss is Tom but purely anecdotally, when pricing up couriers for a valuable item my conclusion was that Parcelforce were the only ones I'd have felt comfortable with both in term of cost, and the apparent quality of their confidence in terms of inclusive cover and terms etc. An added bonus for me was being able to drop off myself when I need to at a convenient location rather than waiting in for a possible collection.

Mate of mine in Edinburgh is in the wine trade, will see if he can help. If so will connect you via FB.

Another notch on the tab thanks Jim.

Thanks Chris, that would be great mate.

http://www.sandblogistics.co.uk looking a strong contender subject to tariffs.
