Mechanic in Fontainebleau
February 10, 2014, 10:48:25 am
Hi

Does anyone know of a trustworthy Mechanic in Fontainebleau, English speaking?

Fiat / Citroen / Peugeot specialist would be ideal but any that's happy to work on a motorhome would be ideal. One of the front brakes are sticking on, I'm guessing the caliper needs replacing/overhauled and the discs and pads will need replacing as the disk on the faulty side is fooked now.

Really appreciate any help on this.

Get in touch with Neil at Masionbleau? He doesn't seem to come on here much anymore.

Failing that you could try Bruce Hooker on the other side. He's usually pretty helpful.

The garage in Villiers sous Grez, close to Dame Joaune, sorted out my son's camper van ( T4 VW) for him, following a collision with a deer a couple of years ago. I believe he did a very good job at a reasonable price. He also was very helpful and did what he said he was going to to when he said it would be done, which is big plus. You can't miss the garage as it is at the edge of the village and has lots of cars stored around it.  Can't remember if his English was any good but communication was effective with son's average french.

Neil got in touch, replied to his email.

Font gite owners to the rescue, Neil is giving me the details for his mechanic and Roo Mellor (owner a different gite thehouse.fr) is letting me ship the parts to his gite (Neil would have let me but is away for half term).

All in all it's thumbs up to these guys! Life savers.
