I haven't been in the Three Stags Heads for ages, have they still got the petrified cat?

Just had a bottle of this - very nice, unexpectedly so... light for a 5%er as well.. from the co-op £1.29

In fact I might pop out and get another one or two  :)

Drinking a glass of Brewdog Hardcore I.P.A it does have a sorta caramelly taste but the alcohol is just too much, I dont mind other strong beers like Duvel but the strength really comes through on this one, dont think I'll be buying any more.
I really like the Hardcore IPA, but if it's too much for you try the Chaos Theory IPA they do, exellent and not as full on as the former. The brewdog stuff is on offer in Sainsburys at the moment too.
Recent discovery is Wolf Brewerys Woild Moild, real malty goodness.

Bit late for tonight, but the 35th  Steel City Beer & Cider Festival will be on just over from the Vine for the next two nights too. I went for the last night last year and they had some good beers. Unfortunately it had been a bit more popular than they had anticipated though so they ran out of beer before the night was done.

last year when we went it was rammed and you had to queue to get in and to use the bogs, and when you came to cash your chips in at the end of the night they didn't have enough change. hopefully be better catered for/organised this year.

I've been staving off the boredom in 'bleau drinking some 3 Monts. Nice.

Was even dry enough to climb today - double nice!

Last nights drinking started off with this little number.

Made with a lager malt, it was very light and had a hoppy aftertaste. High drinkability. The logo depicts a folly near Wentworth which once upon a time was the scene for a challenge. Mr local nobleman had to drive his horse and carriage through the folly at full tilt. He succeeded and the folly is called "The Needles Eye".

Next up was the Sheffield Brewerys Gardeners Return. At 4.9% it seemed to pack a punch above it's weight and again was excellent.

After that I just got stuck into the Wentworth Pale Ale.  :beer1:

Amazing.

Tesco have cut the percentage of their highly rated own brand super to a paltry 7.9%. This has led to uproar in the Super Lager community and we urge you all to boycott Tesco from now on. Expect a review up soon, once we have worked out a way to procure a sample without letting Tesco profit.

When does beer stop being beer? Surely this is beer flavoured liquor.

Got to love the name though!

However Jack Law, of Alcohol Focus Scotland, described it was a "cynical marketing ploy" and said: "We want to know why a brewer would produce a beer almost as strong as whisky."

But they don't have a problem with distilleries making whisky as strong as whisky.

Had a few of these on Saturday night.

Amazing stuff with a high suppability. Really enjoyed it though thought it really odd at first. Looks like a strawberry milkshake whilst being pulled but thankfully settles to a lovelly chestnut colour. Apparently has a blue tint to the head. Couldn't see it myself but the head was very white.

Anyhoo seems to be a regular winter ale, though it's the first time I'd seen it, currently available in the Red Deer, off West St. Sheffside.

The head of the Belgian Blue certainly has a blueish tinge to it - had a pint in the Sheaf last week. Didn't rate as highly on my personal suppability rating scale as yours it would seem.

Good knowledge - might have a look on the way home.
That's cheaper than buying from the brewery isn't it ?
