Ben Moon - Agincourt
December 19, 2013, 06:50:06 pm
After a solid google session last night, I couldnt seem to find this picture anywhere.
John G mentioned it in his interview and now I really want to be inspired!

Can someone get their scanner into action and link it to this thread?

There is a space above my fingerboard that needs to be filled!  :strongbench:

Is that the one from the "6c isn't hard anymore" article in OTE?

OTE number 17 is the one I'm thinking of. Great picture

Talking about posters that inspire, I found a poster of Jerry on Evolution hidden in my loft and it's signed by Ben and Jerry.  :bounce:

There are some pretty impressive posters in the traverse corridor at the Foundry, mostly signed. This includes Gullich. Sadly they're not framed and have been put up in a rather permanent manner.

I think I remember some old thread on here where someone said the original of this photo got lost so it only exists now in whatever form its been reproduced in, i.e. that poster and the mags. Probably explains why google doesn't bring it up.

First one I ever bought. I could probably quote it line for line, read so many times.

You do realise that if it's in Doylo's garage/punishment dungeon it will likely have some unsightly stains on it.

The original got eaten by Bens dog. She had a habit of attacking the post as it came through the door, Ben had had the original slide posted over from the photographer in japan and unfortunately as the dog bit the envelope her tooth went right through the middle of the slide.

There's a copy on the wall of the training bit at the Notts Depot (pretty sure it's still there anyway). I'll have a word with its owner and see if I can borrow it and scan it on the A3 scanner at work.

Agree with Bubba - upside down is the one.

I took the liberty of changing the colours a touch to remove that blue tint...

No doubt this goes against all photography ethics etc etc.
I'll have to live with myself :spank:

That's one of the best climbing photo's I've seen (up there with one of Redhead on Cloggy - Margins of the Mind, and the Appointment with Death photo?).  You can have all the dramatic, inspiring landscape you like.... sometimes, what gets the juices flowing is sick 'ard power!

Took a good photo did Ben.  Grades change, cutting edge becomes warm up, but that image means Ben will look cool as fuck, forever.  That's an immortality pure ability cannot buy.

Great photos. The first one is reversed and should be like this:

You can see as it's the previous move in the sequence (big lock off the undercut pocket) when you get the LH two finger stack and then reach RH into the good 2 finger pocket (which is when your feet come off). It's actually not that hard a move individually (the cut loose) and with decent shoes now and a bit more body tension you can probably keep your feet on. However as it's the last hard move in the sequence it's nails on the link, hence why Ben looks like he's trying so hard.

What a route, great position too stepping off the Mission ledge over the void.

Flatmate at uni had 3 posters, the agincourt one, wolfgangs finger on a campus rung, and tony yaniro on equinox(?). All massively inspiring and these are really the only images I recall as I head to my frail dotage.
