Inspirational climbers become BMC Ambassadors
December 02, 2013, 09:56:00 am

All sports need role models and climbing is no exception, so we’re excited to announce that seven of Britain’s top climbers have agreed to become the first-ever BMC Ambassadors.

The seven BMC Ambassadors are: Fran Brown, Shauna Coxsey, Hazel Findlay, Steve McClure, James McHaffie, Calum Muskett and Molly Thompson-Smith.

The ambassadors will help the BMC raise its profile by acting as role models to inspire and engage young climbers, hill walkers and mountaineers.  The initiative aims to encourage more young people to join and get involved with the BMC.

So keep an eye out for our new ambassadors at BMC events, on social media, and participating in films and video shorts on our recently launched BMC TV.

The BMC Ambassador scheme is funded by Sport England to inspire more young people to participate in climbing, hill walking and mountaineering.

The focus is on climbers in the first phase of the scheme to help attract more young climbers. However we are looking for at least one hill walking ambassador. We’re currently considering names and hope to share more in the next few weeks.
