Going to be going out to Stavanger in Norway next month to visit the girlfriend, and have been trying to find any bouldering venues in the vicinity, but all google turns up is talk of some boulders in the middle of a swamp!

anyone have any info on bouldering in this area?

I was on the BMC international meet a couple of weeks ago and met a couple of right winners from around here, Gunnar Karlsen and Odd-roar Wiik. I'll try and get email details off the bmc and drop you a pm.

There is quite a lot of good bouldering around Stavanger.

This is a link to a topo that covers some of the bouldering around Stavanger. http://www.brv.no/gammelt/buldring/oversikt.htm
It is all in norwegian, sorry about that, but I think you will find the bouldering anyway....

There is a big potential for doing new boulderproblems in the area around Stavanger. Go explore !

Oh you lucky man.
There is loads of bouldering, but you do need a motor.
Dale is 10 mins from Stavanger with some good short problems. Eiane is an hour away with endless fun, Sirevåg is an hour away with endless fun and Lysebotn is 2 1/2 hours away with endless fun. All in picture postcard settings. The sports climbing is also mega.
I live in Stavanger, so I can give ya all the beta you need.
