Wanted-breast feeding chair(buy/borrow/have)
August 02, 2013, 01:10:43 pm
Willing to travel an hour or so from Leeds.
I'm guessing someone will have one that's taking up space. Anyone willing to part with theirs?

A con, not really any better than any other chair. Get a decent feeding pillow (either a V or U shape) and one of these http://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/90078462/
and a few cushions.

Or ask if one is about on netmums (not to be confused with mumsnet), more chance of finding one.

http://www.netmums.com/leeds/nearly-new (or the W Yorks group)

Great place for second hand stuff.

Actually a proper BS chair should have shorter legs than a normal chair.

To modify a normal chair you can either cut a bit off the legs, or get something (like a step, box etc) for the Mrs to put their feet on.

Can second Chris's recommendation. My partner uses one of those chairs. Normal v pillows from Argos are fine or loads on Amazon. Breastfeeding pillows seem identical apart from the price. I know of people getting hold of the Ikea chairs for cheap on eBay. I appreciate these aren't free options...

Sounds about right :) We got a (matching) footstool to go with the chair which is good for the extra height.

thirding what chris said, worked fine for our twins

Another option is just a load of pillows, extra 3 behind and a couple each side meant my missus didn't even need to get out of bed (My job) in fact occasionally didn't even really wake up..

Twins are a tad tiring

Oh yes..

If you're visiting North Wales, or a mate is, you can 'borrow' ours as its cluttering the place up

(once I've cleared it with the boss.....)

HoseyB. Nice offer, but not sure nipping off (pun intended) to Wales to pick up a chair go climbing would go down too well.

We did the cushion thing with our eldest daughter but the Mrs is fancying some furniture this time. Thanks for the ideas though.

I'll keep on being naggedlooking...
