2669 straight ups in Fontainebleau
July 15, 2013, 10:28:09 pm
The House is advertising the new 7+8 guide.

Quote
Available to buy from the The House, the much awaited update to the 7 & 8's

336 full colour pages with 2669 problems, 100 areas, 72 photos and 27 maps.

Can't see any details on the rest of t'web and so have a nagging feeling that someones hijacked their account and wants my bank details...

Hopefully I've got oap internet paranoia and its actually here!

Andy and Roo are honest chaps and I've bought stuff off them in the past with no issues. I'd assume they'd want payment through PayPal which is pretty hassle free and safe?

Don't get me wrong, nothing against Andy and Roo - stayed with them last spring and would happily recommend - more my imagination leading to someone hijacking their Facebook then waiting for bank detail to flood in....

As they replied with their own bank details I think that is unlikely and my cash is winging its way to them! (€30 + €10 postage :-))

£40 for a guidebook? The worlds gone mad

people would pay twice that for a book if it had enough ego-massaging overgradings

Been transferring ticks over, few thoughts...

Plus -
Not too big, still smaller than peak bouldering
Beautiful/clear as ever
Colour means they've included a lot more circuits on the topos
Colour pics
They've kept the ribbon - why isn't this on all guidebooks?!

Minus -
I liked the plastic cover of 1789, this one looks like it won't be as tough
Lots of the pics are the same as 1789, just in colour
It isn't cheap

Let's face it, you're all going to buy it whatever, but there isn't much wrong with it IMO.

30 euro if you buy it in fontainebleau, is owning it in advance worth the difference??

I resisted buying the second edition. I copied and drew the extra problems into the first edition, but I feel obliged to buy this one. Anyone point me to where I can get one?

you even get £3 off iff you're a member.

I'm sure plenty of walls and shops have it too
