The climbing wall grade thing is interesting.

Aye went from an, admittedly quite freakishly good, day climbing five 7b's (only 2 of which I'd looked at before) a couple of 7a's and a host of other things on grit and then a few days later back to my local wall where I  invariably get shut down by anything graded above 6c+
Ho hum grades.....   :-\

I wonder if, with a big enough sample (and perhaps added details and controls) you could attempt to use the distribution of the survey to uncover inconsistencies in grading. For instance, if there's an unseemly number of of 7B's purporting to be 7C, then adjusting for that would create a decent normal distribution.

I've gone for 7C as that's what Peakbouldering.info, and PDB both give Famous Grouse Sitter give it.

Don't really feel like I've done anything particularly hard this year.

Topped a 7A+/B indoor crimp-fest at my local gym but I figured it was too easy to be a 7B and there's no way I could push that after eight months climbing, so I went with a vote for 7A+ on a climb that suited my climbing style and that I got lucky on sequence-wise.
