bosley big numbers

ned to check it out with the local congolski, but reckon I did a new line yesterday up at bosley cloud-
'Codfinger workout' gains the thin seam 1m left of summit arete, then finishes direct. font 7b or thereabouts, potentially much easier for the tall.
Sam also bagged probably the first on-sight of 'Summit arete' font 7a (+), and a quick repeat of the above. Also quite a bit of potential for mega-hard starts to these probs. Get yerselves up there... the closest grit to wales I reckon, great views and catches the breeze

Check the picture of the Trawsfynydd crag in the 'Outlying Areas' Gallery section on my site. That is apparently gritstone.

Ever done the classic E3 route, Path to Rome down on the Lleyn Peninsula - again, apparently gritstone.

I must admit, both feel different to the Pennine stuff.

Yeah, did my geology dissertation mapping cilan. Its grit interms of particle size only. Much older than the real stuff (cambrian vs carboniferous) and not really stuck together. I'd guess the trawsfynydd stuff is similar, or maybe even a coarse tuff.
Path to Rome is superb though. Similar in character to the moon at yellow walls but better. You done anything on the main crag??

I know this is a slightly old thread  ;) but can anyone give me the details on the sitter to Summit Arete etc? I know they've been climbed but the only information seems to have been on PeakBouldering which doesn't work anymore.

I know Rob Mirfin did some new stuff up here too. Any info would be great, it'd be nice to put a topo together.

Cheers.

I'm not sure I remember it getting done. Google isn't turning anything up either. If only Bosley's keenest protagonist would move back to the area.

I don't think it's been done.
Tom Newman did a new one on the prow just to the right though.

Checked the details with Ned:
Quote
Yeah think that’s right. I did summit arete from standing on the floor, rather than leaning in from the hill. Which made it 8a ish. But the sitter hasn’t been done yet.

Then the one on the right is 7c+ from standing (reachy!) and Tom added an 8b ish even more reachy sitter.

Ah, nice one!

Yes, I was aware of the arete to the right at 7C+, didn't know it'd been done from sitting too. Impressive!

I'll have to have a look at that standing start to summit arete, I can't quite picture it as there's a boulder underneath the start (which you can also start from at 7Bish?), I presume you'd have to kind of straddle that to get the grass start.

This looks like one of those problems that you have to be very careful about doing because, if you do, you give cast iron proof that you have entered mythical realms of lank. Like Albatross at Eldwick.

Good effs to Sam. Looks desperate.

There's never been any doubt about Sam's lank!

Sounds cool, hope he videoed it so the lank can be publicly available!

Looks absolutely mint. Doesn't look as reachy as his sequence on The Whippet, so it might be accessible to the not-very-tall-but-still-kinda-tall? Either way, top effort indeed.
