As an alternative approach I can recommend one of these:

Pros: Good sound quality, tiny, expandable, easily works as an external drive on computers, builtin radio, cheaper than your ipod suggestion including cards
Cons: card faff

I tend to keep my main collection on computer/media player, have a couple of cards and change their contents from time to time.

Yo. I like my clip but need to upgrade. Thinking of the clip+ (after all 7A+ is better than 7A so plus must be good), BUT does it have the option to select a FOLDER to play??

I just drag and drop various folders from my desktop to the normal clip, but it only allows Songs/Artists/Albums/Genres, it does not let me choose to play a folder I've created on the clip. Does the + solve this problem??
