XMAS Day Boulder action
December 20, 2002, 09:23:03 am
Dunno bout you lot but in previous years I have been fortunate enough to get out on either Xmas Day, boxing day or both - its quality, theres noone around, none of the usual "Ooh! it looks hard!/high up/Dangerous" nonsense from the ramblers and no smelly punters leaving mud on the holds.

However this year I am concerned the weather has been so bad I will be lucky to get out at all and with not a decent wall in sight I may yet have to resort to swinging from the door frames.

Is anyone else up for action over the Xmas period?

I'll be getting out anytime I can, though I can't see it happening xmas day or boxing day due to the planned feast/session that's occurring.

Was hoping to avoid doing my xmas shopping and getting out tomorrow - forcast isn't looking too bad for once....

I seen a ten-day 4cast that sadi it would rain every day except xmas day.....

Unfortunatley for me i'll be busy all day xmas day shoveling inot my gob a mixture of turket, stuffing, bacon, roast potatos, mash, gravy, carrots, parsnips, xmas pud, cake, mince pies etc. And then the same again in the evening at my bird's parents.

Boxing day I'm off to see the steelers destroy the panthers, theres nowt finer i tell thee.

Ah Ha! another exponent of the double Xmas dinner scam! I too will be enjoying festive feast at both lots of parents, but as the route from one to other takes in the Peak then thats usually my excuse...

Nice avatar, someone got/had that on boldering.com so now i'm reyt confused.

The old double-dinner thing could be a bad idea though, visions of that Vicar of Dibley episode...

Boxing day action my arse! shite weather all round! I went for a walk around Heighley Castle (its on the way from my parents to hers) as the guide says that it might be dry in rainy conditions - no luck. Quite a cool little place though, good potential for soaring arete climbing - ace landings too. Pottered up a slippery VS in my trainers, very pleasant.
