User associations (climbers, walkers, bikers etc) have all been excluded from consultation bodies on the forest of Fontainebleau.

Quote
Recently, abruptly, the majority of associations representing sports or nature have been removed from the membership of the Scientific Committee and users, as well as the steering committee of the Natura 2000 sites of the Massif de Fontainebleau, despite their request maintaining these committees.

Are the gun/animal/occasional (17 per year)accidental human killing club included in the 'etc' or do they get a say?

All associations that represent groups of forest users (climbers, walkers, cyclists, horse riders, hunters etc) will no longer have a voice in decisions concerning the forest.

This does not mean that sic 'Fontainebleau is threatened with closure'.

Thanks. Perhaps mods can add this link to my post, to make it easier?

Signed. I don't know much about conservation in France, but from what I read its a way behind the UK. Decent consultation with users is a pretty recent thing in the UK, and I think reflects a certain level of confidence from the conservationists that their efforts will not be damaged.

Hunters kill 17 people per year, in Font alone?? This cannot be.

Astonishment aside that must add at least several E grades to any bouldering problem there.
