Would anyone be able to tow my car in Leeds sometime? I need it moving from Armley to Moortown (2.9 miles) as I'm moving house and the timing belt has gone. If I can get it to the new place I can put it in the garage and can cancel my tax/insurance if i need to.

Cheapest quote I've had is £30 which I can't really afford, but I'll chuck some Beer money your way if you can lend a hand.

How much is the car worth? If the timing belt has gone it might be a write off

It's worth about £600 and I think it will pretty much be a write off as I was doing 60-70mph at the time...

Got a quote saying it would be about £100 to replace the belt and find out how bad it was, then could be anything from £100-300+ on top. So thinking it might be best to just put it in my garage and SORN it for now as I can get a tax and insurance refund for the last 5-6 months. Then I can see about getting it sold for scrap or spares.

It's got 11 months MOT and the brakes and tyres were all replaces a year ago so it might have some value for spares, though I have no clue on this kind of thing unfortunately...

Get the tax back, then scrap it I reckon. Not worth the £100 punt.

+1.. Cambelt at speed often = bent valves = top end rebuild = much more than £300 I suspect..
