Nice. Might come and check it out some time. Got any Weather Report?

Of course I have. The great thing about Spotify is you get access to pretty much everything, except the Beatles. And I hate the Beatles! It's perfect!

You just need three more now. Kitchen, bedroom and Random (for bathroom and outside for Bar B Qs). Play them all at once from iTunes when you have a party.  :punk:

I don't like The Beatles either (but I do like Weather Report).

Jesus.....you guys are haters

I've just bought a Roku from Curry's for £39. I can stream video and music either from my mac (via Plex) and plug in my stereo to the box. Cheaper than Apple TV and much more useful  :great:

Not when you factor in having to buy a mouse/keyboard/wireless/memory card/power supply.......all of which I don't have. This does it all with a simple set up and no geeking out required

and doesn't a 'RasPi' come looking like a crystal radio in a matchbox and need a load of fucking about with?

Even though Dylan's totally wrong about the Roku vs. the Airport, I think he's got the right idea

My Pi cost me £50 total.

for that price it'll wirelessly stream 1080p (i.e. > than the Roku), it also looks pretty darn good with the case I currently have, plus it's tiny. With an Android phone and a free app you have a very capable smart-remote which contains your entire XBMC library. It also pulls in a full scraping service for metadata which makes XBMC look great.

You'd imagine that there's a tonne of geeking out to be done but in reality it's ridiculously easy i.e. download an installer and an image and click go. Add-ons come from the repository and they're as simple to install as select to download. Non-official apps can be donwloaded to a USB stick and again, select and install. This allows you to add-on a lot of apps that for example find live-streams of sports, personally it's of little interest but for some people it isn't.
