Reading the 'youngest' thread is depressing for those of us closer to free bus travel than cheap bus travel. So, in a desperate attempt at bolstering hope for my twilight years, who are the oldest Brits to climb 8b and 8c?

however, I'm compelled to volunteer the information, that at the age of 16 I'd not done 8b or 8c, and now closing in on 43 I've  managed to not do 8b or 8c...

Glad you started this thread as I find it more impressive than the youngest one. Seems to me that climbing is more akin to gymnastics where youthful power to weight ratios, flexibility and quick healing are a distinct advantage. I'm always impressed with hard ascents by the middle aged with full time jobs and family commitments.

I only started going grey after meeting you Webbo :p

The good thing is, unlike the "youngest to climb" there is still time for you to do it!

I managed to climb my age (in SA Grades) from ages 22 to 27 and then the paths diverged somewhat, never the twain to meet again.

50 this year but no big ticks since Unjustified

I could compete on hairy-ness but not on grade.

I think Keefe is 51. Mike Owen is another who has possibly climbed 8b since reaching his half century
