Depot: Battle of Britain Sat 10th Nov
October 23, 2012, 09:59:08 am
The Battle Of Britain is back at the Depot. Put it in your diary.

On Saturday the 10th of November some of the best boulderers in the country will compete shoulder to shoulder with those making their first competition steps in our annual super comp.

Apart from the whopping £500 each to the winners of the male and female seniors we will also be offering £2000 worth of prizes up for grabs to everyone.

Last year Alex Puccio and Shauna Coxsey shared the spoils in the ladies final with Aussie powerhouse Chris Webb Parsons cleaning up in the men's. This year its anyones competition!!!

The format involves competitors attempting 30 problems in a qualifying round that will also decide the places for the juniors and vets. The top finishing seniors will then go through to our world-cup format final on the evening.

The £12 entry includes climbing, a limited edition comp t-shirt and some food after the qualifiers.

It all starts at 12pm.

Do you need to have Veterinary Degree or does this cover anyone in the animal healthcare professions?

(what's the Veteran's age limit down south anyway?)

Look for someone in a blood spattered suit, handing out minimalist business cards and quitely commenting on the music of Huey Lewis and the News.

The lower limit was 40, fortunately for Pete Chadwick there was no upper age limit.

Loved this bit from the write up...

Quote
At 4pm sharp the qualification ended and the scorecards were collated. With an hour to kill until the senior’s finals commenced, folks took advantage of the free pizza’s and got stuck into the real ale on tap from Naylor’s brewery. For a brief moment the scouse contingent fell silent.

Genius and so true...  :punk:

I text ahead to see if Crouch would save me a slice:

"Number 6 down the hatch and it's all gone. The masses are ravenous!".

Needless to say, I went hungry that night.
