Glueing Neoprene to Rubber
October 08, 2012, 10:44:31 pm
As topic states, can anyone recommend a suitable glue?

Thought I'd try and revive my kneepad, tried glueing it with a glue that claimed to be able to glue rubber but it never adhered. Any help greatly appreciated.

For fixing wetsuits there is some stuff called "Black Witch"; I'm sure it's just a brand name for some adhesive, but it's pretty good. No idea how it will work with rubber, but might be worth a try.

I was recommended Shoe Goo by Llanberis Resoles for my home-made knee-pads. They've survived round 1 of testing, but off to Kalymnos soon, so will really find out then!

Shoe Goo should be ok for your knee bar pad, but I find that on shoes it tends to wear quite quickly.

Craig from the Warrington Wall swears by barge glue, which I think is the 'Black Witch' stuff.

Not sure if 'Seamgrip' or seam seal (for tents) is the same as shoegoo but I find it sticks almost anything to anything.
