Is it relisted still including the 'good' wheels? Is the new price still higher than your offer was?

It sound just that little too to b true.. As I've said before... It's like buying a car.. Despite what you feel in your heart.. Your head knows there will be another good deal round the corner.

Sack this one off.

He did eventually get back to me, promised some photos but I am yet to receive them.

Definately going off the deal and if I was not intending to pick it up in person (down in Kent to pick felix up at half term), I would have walked already.

Anyway, the good thing is that it has focused my mind re what I would be prepared to pay for the right bike.

What does one think of this, its been offered around since the summer so a deal could no doubt be done.

Ian, you have seen this haven't you?

Kona Stinky Primo 2002 frame (no shock, standard headtube, 19" or 20") for £359 on chainreaction

Is this the wrong kind of Stinky?

I like the Operator, Jon thinks they're heavy. Get a good deal on it and suspect you'll like it

Too old, shit angles, the wrong head tube diameter and probably the wrong shock size. Stinky would have needed to have been 2009 or later. Sort of coming round to the idea of a full on DH bike now though.

If you want an operator, and I know yr love of Mazzz, that's a pretty good bike mate.

Well the demo is apparently sold now, and I am getting bad vibes about that Kona. The forks were listed before and marked as sold.

So if you see anything else, let me know.

Currently looking at this one, what do y'all think?

Ian, currently I think the only option is to wait until 12/12/12 at 11pm and order a YT Tues 2.0 World Cup. BOS Idylle / Rare, E13 and X0 drivetrain and brakes, Renthal cockpit. It'll be less than 2600 delivered  :o

Leaning that way as well, buying second hand seems to be a bit like playing Russian roulette   FD seems to do OK, maybe I am just being too cautious.

A bit worried about BOS though, no one in the UK seems to service them

Yeh but.... Once I have swapped all the springs for somethin more suited to my weight, it's over €2000, which makes the ltd seem like a killer deal. Everything is set up for rider weight.

Having a bit of a rethink regarding the YT.  All those bling parts might be nice but: the likely hood of getting any of them repaired at a resort will be pretty slim, the BOS stuff is getting a reputation as being somewhat fragile plus you are paying in Dec for a product which might only arrive in April/May. Really not sure its such a good idea any more.

leaning towards the Operator ATM. Solid, bombproof forks and nothing exotic that will be a pain to get repaired. Currently listed @£1700 but might get it down a bit more.

Thoughts please?  :goodidea:   :badidea:

Good idea.

U don't play the arrival date lottery.. Which is a pitfall of YT type selling, u get a bike pronto... I mean April?? I'd done 2 races, 2 uplifts and ridden near every weekend from End of Jan onwards this year... Before April!

U like kona, Dirt mag really rated it their top 100. Nothing like the konas of old. Good components.

As for getting stuff fixed in Europe, can't really comment. U know the score best..

I'd just buy the kona and get out and ride now!!!

Looks like I have done a deal on that Operator after all. Detour via Brum on Sat to check it out/buy it.

Happier to get something with Marzocchi suspension and it looks pretty cool in white. Although the swapping the springs will cost a bit! Cheers for looking around for me mate
