Subtly done they can be pleasant (a string of lights around the gutters for example) otherwise they look stupid and run up a huge electricity bill.

There's a street near us with every house completely decked out, it's become a local attraction parents take their kids along for entertainment, even by Monday mums in the playground were talking about it.  If it was one house it'd be shit but the whole street is, I'm ashamed to admit, pretty spectacular.

we took the boy for a spin up there last year. it is spectacular.

Only just noticed the request for pics, I did make a video but it was just a blur, forgot my camera doesn't refocus.  So pics it is, not sure they do it justice and we may have gone too early before some folk were home from work so their lights not switched on, also didn't feel right pointing the camera direct at folks' houses so they're just street shots.  It's Abbeydale Park Rise, by the way.
