Riding around Font?
April 28, 2012, 09:58:31 am
 :please:

Might be going with my son for a few days mid/late May and would like to ride as well as climb. Have found some dirt jumps not far from the town, but anything with a downhill/gravity bent would be ace. Likely to be staying at that campsite near sabot, if that helps.

Any suggestions/directions gratefully received.

Never ridden around there, but you can probably find a few locals on this forum:

http://forum.velovert.com/topic/32920-le-forum-de-bleau-77/page__st__8895

seems to e more XC, but there's also this:
http://forum-endurotribe.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2211 (seems a bit dead though)

Searching Google France for "vtt enduro fontainbleau" also throws up a load of stuff too, like

http://wombatsly.blogspot.fr/2008/06/fontainebleau-le-spot-de-vtt.html
http://blog.rastafari-riders.fr/news/vtt-en-foret-de-fontainebleau

and a few videos.

Edit: as usual there are a load of GPS traces here: http://www.utagawavtt.com/gmap/geoportail-carte-generale-topos-vtt but I've always found this kind of trace to be very variable in quality (as they're mostly just the trace of someone out for a ride) and almost impossible to follow without a GPS.

Get in touch with Neil, he's posted several vids of little freeride areas around Font on the (I think) Downhill Domination topic.
