Had a wee hike up there today with tc, didn't climb but fondled some holds and conditions were good, everything was dry. Keen to get reacquainted with the place, it's been a while .

Can confirm it was fantastic Saturday, however, Sunday morning had led to some foothold seepage, and a few of the holds on Picnic wound up being damp (resulting in a rather nice ping from high up)

Was it you on Picnic I was chatting too? If so, did you get it ticked?

Aye. I'd already ticked the stand when we spoke if I remember rightly. I dropped the last move of the sitter not long after you lot left. My mate who was there too ticked the sit and stand, along with Coming up for air. Decent weekend trip really. Got along to St Bees on the Sunday too, which was nice for a look in.

Jumped straight on it (after having a bit of a mare dropping my pad and watching it roll down the hill and into the abyss, only to find it after a good half hour searching). I couldn't work out how to pull on the start move at all (from the low right hand crimp), but my mate ticked it within a couple hours. Didn't fancy wandering much further along given the greasy nature of walking anywhere there, but I'll definitely be heading back out when I get the chance.

Not been to the cobble but have been working down borrowdale a bit this week, was OK midweek but it has lashed it down for the last two days. Proper Lake District rain as well, my prediction for Sunday is not good. Can update tomorrow if wanted.

If you don't mind that'd be handy, I'll try closer to home push comes to shove though.

BREAKING NEWS!!

Strange coloured object visible in the sky! Yes, it is actually sunny, well, partly sunny and partly cloudy. You could be in luck for tomorrow. I'm off up the valley shortly so will call in at the Styan and check her fettle.

Update.

Had a quick look with my girls, not good I'm afraid. Bowderiser wet (as always ) top of Picnic wet, power pinch wet, start of lateral wet, most stuff on back side wet. Overall, wet. But rain is holding off still, might be a tad better if it stays away.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ANYONE HEADING TO THE BOWDERSTONE

The normal route there is closed at the Watendlath road end, so don't even bother heading that way. There are diversions in place that send you back out of Keswick and through Portinscale instead. If you are travelling alone the A66 from Penrith just go straight past Keswick (all 3 entrances) and follow signs for Portinscale, should I buy add about 5-10 minutes to the journey. Me and Old Cheese are headed there tomorrowso wwill report back as to whether it's worth making the journey.

Yes, bring them! It was pretty dry until recent snow, so tings have been ok in the last week. If the Bowderstone is wet you'll probably still find dry stuff at Carrock, it's more exposed and takes no seepage. Saturday morning looking ok.

Resurrection.

Potentially heading to the Lakes on Saturday and wondering how the Bowderstone's looking at the moment? Its forecast rain on Friday but the Saturday's looking dry. Worth a punt?

Thanks

Anyone got an idea what the Bowderstone will be like this weekend? Planning Carrock, but showers might necessitate a plan B.
