Surprised some enterprising soul hasn't set up a business re-stuffing pads to be honest - if people will resole shoes surely re-foaming a pad at a fraction of the cost of a new mat is a no-brainer?
If it's £50 maybe you'd consider it. If it's £80 you'd wonder if it's worth it. What if it was £100? It's only another £50 for a new mat, and there's usually a bit of stitching, or a buckle which is a bit busted.

I wonder whether 2 sheets of 10mm Ethafoam might work better in a taco pad than 1 layer of 20mm - maybe reduce creasing? Similar price
quote I got 18 months ago for some 2cm closed cell to replace the top layer on the huge Metolius pad I got off GCW
The very firm foam bought from the site I linked to is not as firm as the foam in some modern pads, but would definitely do for rejuvenating an old pad. The foams from that site are also relatively lightweight, which is a good thing, since my previous experiences of buying foam from a shop in Edin made an old pad twice the weight and twice as soft.Would be good if any peeps find firmer open-cell foam than I managed to, or could even cheekily find out the spec. I reckon if a bunch of UKB'ers were to club together, could probably put in a special order and still get a good rate.
Anyone tried re-stuffing a Dropzone yet? I am keen and may give it a whirl so I'll let you a know if/when.

If you opt for what i suggested, it will not be as firm as a brand new one. It may well be that the tougher fabric will make a bit of a difference, since the lovely soft velour on the deluxe doesn't help the situation, but is now a useful second pad.
or the snap bun.
Quote from: chris20 on October 05, 2014, 08:38:05 pm or the snap bun.Everyone I know with one (myself included) has issues with the thin layer of dense foam sliding around the side of the mat. It's annoying.
Cheers Tom - I never thought to even try! I have some pallet wrapping cling film stuff, that'd do it for sure.
